Judy Treu Biography

Judy Treu, M.S., R.D.
Judy Treu is a Research Associate at the PRC. She is a registered dietitian with a bachelor’s degree in health (State University of New York) and master’s degree in nutrition (Pennsylvania State University). Her interests include nutrition education, physical activity promotion, community-based research, and the prevention of obesity and diabetes.
At the PRC, Ms. Treu has played roles in evaluating the Nutrition Detectives™ and ABC for Fitness™ programs in elementary schools, developing weight control strategies for a community website portal, and examining the effects of walnuts on endothelial function.
Before coming to the PRC, she worked on research and outreach projects at Penn State University and the University of Massachusetts. She developed nutrition education materials (print and video); worked on NIH-funded nutrition education and clinical research studies; organized continuing education conferences for health professionals; and presented in-service programs at schools and community agencies.
